UNEP IETC is facilitating a University Consortium to develop an academic curriculum on holistic waste management for professionals, such as policy makers, managers and technicians, as a part of the Capacity Building at the National and City level. This consultation meeting will be led by UNEP IETC with the Consortium partners:  Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Kyoto University (Japan), Tongji University (China), TERI University (India), Griffith University and UNSW Australia.  The meeting will discuss the progress on academic curriculum work and decide on the next steps to deliver the curriculum by the consortium partners. The agenda will include: i) updating the progress of the Waste for Sustainable Development (WSD) Consortium/Academic Curriculum Activities, ii) update on the status of the Academic Curriculum resource package, iii) peer review of the course material developed by AIT, iv) identifying the challenges, problems, issues faced by each consortium partners, and v) future of the WSD for the final resource package, delivery of the course, regional/global expansion of the network, and exploring research/project opportunities.
