Sustainable Fashion Competition

RRC.AP advocates for World Environment Day (WED), which is celebrated annually in June, and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. This year’s World Environment Day will focus on 3 major themes, namely: Climate Nature Chemicals & Pollution.

In this years’ World Environment Day RRCAP is organizing the competition on sustainable fashion to motivate our AIT Community in reusing and reducing the textile wastes in daily lives by recycling/upscaling their used clothes.  The competition utilizes the concept of ‘do it yourself’ (D.I.Y.) to turn your old, obsolete, and unwanted clothes into trendy and fashionable items, and hence minimize the textile wastes. This competition will encourage participants to think out of the box, use their creativity and talents in fashion-design, and take a step to sustainability.

INSTRUCTIONS TO JOIN THE COMPETITION
-    To join the competition, you can apply either individually or as a team (with members no more than three).
-    For pre-judging purpose: prepare a side-by-side picture of the old clothing vs. new outfit as well as a ppt presentation or short video explaining the steps you followed to turn your old clothing into new outfit.
-    Final judging will be during the WED celebration on 02 June 2022. The participant or volunteer model should wear the new outfit and walk the fashion runway while briefly explaining (no more than three minutes) to the judging panel.
-    You must complete your new outfit and register not later than 1 June 2022.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
-    Use of materials – reuse/recycled/environmentally friendly
-    Creativity
-    Applicability – can be worn in your daily life
-    Verbal presentation/explanation

AWARD:
Winner will get ThB3000 + additional prizes for the runners up
