Threats to Biodiversity

RRC.AP advocates for World Environment Day (WED), which is celebrated annually in June, and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. This year’s World Environment Day will focus on 3 major themes, namely: Climate, Nature, and Chemicals & Pollution.

AIT community often is faced with incidents of deaths/kills of various animal species and plants. These incidents threatens the flourishing of wildlife and biodiversity. Many of these unfortunate kills could be prevented by taking simple precautions. In this years’ World Environment Day, RRCAP would like to raise awareness about these unfortunate incidents and promote responsible behaviors that makes AIT a wildlife-friendly community.

In view of this, RRCAP would like to invite an institute wide submission of amateur photos of various ecologically sensitive incidents such as, animal, birds, and plants kill incidents. Photo submissions may also include undesirable environmental conditions on campus such as unmanaged hazardous chemical waste and wastewater, among others on campus, etc. that may pose threat to wild life.

INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSION:
