“Air Pollution Awareness Workshop on Impacts of PM2.5”

3 March 2019
AIT Bangkok, Column Tower (15th flr.), Sukhumvit Soi 16, Khlong Toei,
Bangkok, Thailand

The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRCAP) has organized the “Air Pollution Awareness Workshop on Impacts of PM2.5” as part of its 30th anniversary celebration in order to communicate and deliver persuasive, evidence-based and solution-oriented messages to the general public, decision-makers, academe/students, scientists, private sector  and different stakeholders pertaining to air quality. RRCAP continues to provide the public with current air quality information, in the event of an environmental emergency imminently threatening the safety of human life and  ecosystem.

The workshop was aimed to provide an overview on the current issues and situations on PM2.5 in Thailand, the knowledge about the air quality, and the recommendations and measures to mitigate air pollution. The workshop will cover the health effects of PM2.5, current situation in Bangkok, its sources, measures taken by the government and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and their effectiveness, and measures which should have been taken, among others. The result of the recent study on PM2.5 in Thailand was also presented during the  workshop.  Download Brochure.
