Waste Management Joint Workshops

18-Apr-2016- 22-May-2016
Asian Insitute of Technology, Thailand

The Regional Outlook for Asia will be developed to complement the global overview of the Global Waste Management Outlook (GWMO). The development of the Asia Pacific Waste Management Outlook (APWMO) is a follow-up to the Global Waste Management Outlook (GWMO) launched in 2015, in partnership with ISWA. The regional outlook will allow a deeper analysis of the state of waste management in Asia, by reflecting its concrete situation and using case studies from the region and propose more tailored recommendations for the region. UNEP IETC is facilitating a University Consortium to develop an academic curriculum on holistic waste management for professionals, such as policy makers, managers and technicians, as a part of the Capacity Building at the National and City level. This consultation meeting will be led by UNEP IETC with the Consortium partners:  Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Kyoto University (Japan), Tongji University (China), TERI University (India), Griffith University and UNSW Australia.  The meeting will discuss the progress on academic curriculum work and decide on the next steps to deliver the curriculum by the consortium partners.
