​​​​​​​​AIT RRC.AP hosts the 18th Summer School on Environmental and Natural Resource Economics

The AIT RRC.AP hosted the 18th Summer School on Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from 29 April to 13 May 2024 at the Asian Institute of Technology Conference Center, Pathum Thani, Thailand. The Summer School, organised by the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), was attended by a total of 26 practicing economists from 7 countries in the South Asia and the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region. The Summer School provided the economists with the basic skills necessary to teach and conduct research on environmental and natural resource economics as well as to develop research proposals that can later be submitted to SANDEE for its research grant competition.

Dr. Mani Nepal, Programme Coordinator of SANDEE and Lead Economist for ICIMOD; Professor Joyashree Roy, Distinguished Professor at AIT and a SANDEE alumna; and Dr. Guilberto Borongan, Director of AIT-RRC.AP, were among those who attended the inauguration ceremony on 29 April 2024.
