​The RRC.AP Waste Management Cluster welcomed five Japanese delegates from the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) and IOT Council of Waste Management and Recycling on 9th July 2018. With an exchange of introductory presentation about RRC.AP and IOT Council respectively, the meeting explored possibilities of partnership for joint research projects on the application of the internet of things (IOT) in the waste sector. As an initial discussion, RRC.AP and AIT Solutions joint project idea on smart waste in Ulaanbaatar (UB) Mongolia, which aims to mobilize youth and apply IOT technologies for tracking waste data/analytics from households in two pilot districts of Ulaanbaatar City, was shared with the delegates.
