Dr. Vanisa Surapipith, Head of the Air Pollution Cluster of Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT RRC.AP), was invited by Prof. Heekwan Lee and team at Incheon National University (INU) to participate at the 2026 Incheon International Environmental Technology Confex, held from 3-4 September 2026 at Songdo Convensia, Incheon, Republic of Korea (RoK).

Dr. Vanisa co-chaired with Asst. Prof. Kim Cheol-yong, INU, in the 4th session on “K-ASEAN Collaboration: White Bio Project Development”. She encouraged discussion among the delegates, particularly from Dr. Vong Sok, Assistant Director for Environment, ASEAN Secretariat. Her leading discussion emphasized the need for developing a new joint-proposal with INU and Lotte Company. There was closer discussion with many representatives from Thailand Pollution Control Department, Thailand Institute of Science and Technology Research (TISTR), Chulalongkorn University, about new project on Biomass-SRF for co-benefits. There was also the Official Technical Tour to the Green Cluster on September 2, 2026, that brought clearer views on how RoK government helps enabling Start-ups by enhancing infrastructure for research and manufacturing. The Green Cluster even had pre-kindergarten visitors showing the limitless & ageless in the trend of learning and innovation for moving towards Net-Zero.

The CONFEX 2026 brought together policymakers, experts, and stakeholders from across the world, including Africa, Asia and South America, to explore innovative approaches for sustainable development globally.
