​​​​​​​​​​Special Lecture on Multi-Hazard Early Warning System Successfully Held

The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP), in collaboration with the Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM) Program, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), successfully organized a Special Lecture on "Multi-Hazard Early Warning System: Protecting Society through Advanced Forecasting" on 6 February 2026.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Vlado Spiridonov, Professor of Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics at the St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, who shared valuable insights on advanced forecasting systems and their role in enhancing societal resilience to multi-hazard risks.

The event was conducted in hybrid mode, with the onsite session held at Room E222, Academic Building, Asian In​stitute of Technology (AIT). A total of around 52 participants attended the lecture, including 30 onsite participants and 22 online participants joining via Zoom.

The session was moderated by Dr. Vanisa Surapipith, Head of Air Pollution Cluster at RRC.AP, who served as the Master of Ceremony. Dr. Guilberto Borongan, Director of RRC.AP, delivered the opening remarks. The lecture concluded with closing remarks by Associate Professor Dr. Ekbordin Winijkul, Dean of Faculty of Infrastructure at AIT.
