​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​AIT RRC.AP Hosted a Workshop at the Decarbonization Nexus 2025

The Decarbonization Nexus 2025 was an impactful, two-day conference hosted at the Asian Institute of Technology, serving as a vital meeting point for the minds driving the transition to a low-carbon world. This dynamic event skillfully brought together leading academics, pioneering industry leaders, influential policymakers, transformative innovators, and engaged students. ​The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific in the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT RRC.AP) conducted a hybrid workshop, “Greener Futures: Advancing Climate Resilience through Nature-based Solutions (NbS),” on the opening day of the conference. The event drew over one hundred participants and showcased several expert presentations.

  • Mr. Hanif Falah, Technical Officer, NbS, IUCN Asia Regional Office, discussed "NbS for Climate Adaptation, Concepts, Principles and Global Experiences" 
  • Dr. Satrio Adi Wicaksono, Regional Coordinator, Forest and Drylands, IUCN Asia Regional Office, covered "Mainstreaming NbS into National Adaptation Planning" and "Financing NbS: Challenges and Opportunities" and, 
  • Dr. Vanisa Surapipith, Head of Air Pollution Cluster, AIT RRC.AP, presented on "Tackling Black Carbon in South Asia: Reinforcing the Malé Declaration for Sustainability and Co-benefits on Health and Climate." 

The Centre also took part in the conference’s marketplace from September 11-12, 2025, where it displayed promotional materials and key knowledge products designed to support waste management, climate action and adaptation. These featured resources included: the FloodS flood forecasting tool, the S8 SI-CAT Downscaler for climate change downscaling, the Know Waste Knowledge (KWK) Platform for marine debris information, and the RRC.AP e-learning Hub for climate change action and National Adaptation Plans implementation.
