The Sixteenth Session of the Intergovernmental Meeting of the Malé Declaration on Control and Prevention of Air Pollution and its Likely Transboundary Effect for South Asia (MD/IG16) was organized virtually on 12 January 2022. About 40 participants representing the National Focal Points (NFPs) and the National Implementing Agencies (NIAs) of the Malé Declaration member countries, namely, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, as well as representatives from various international organizations, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), participated in the meeting.
