Second Regional Stakeholders Forum, 2005

​The Malé Declaration Annual Network Meeting, second Regional Stakeholder Meeting and 1st Regional Coordination meeting were successfully organized back to back in NRC-Delhi, India from 11-15 October, 2005. The meetings were organized by SACEP, SEI, UNEP RRC and the Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment and Forest in India. Participants included National Focal Points, National Implementing Agencies, and representatives from NGOs, Universities, Regional Stakeholders and ongoing initiatives on air pollution.

The Malé Declaration Annual Meeting reviewed the progress of the project and discussed on issues as; a) Phase III implementation with focus on continuation of capacity building activities; c) initiation of impact assessment studies; and c) information for policy making. The objective of the second Regional Stakeholders meeting was to increase awareness on local and trans-boundary air pollution among different stakeholders. The 1st Coordination meeting of Malé, organized on the last day of the meeting series, reviewed air pollution related initiatives in South Asia and discussed on how to enhance the coordination and information sharing among the ongoing initiatives.
