As a part of wider dissemination the first Stakeholder's workshop was held in Malé Maldives on 25 April 2000. It was jointly organized by MHAHE-Maldives, SACEP, SEI and UNEP/EAP-AP. Themain aims of the stakeholders forum are to increase the awareness on the transboundary air pollution; to share and receive the stakeholders views and ideas on the implementation of Malé Declaration; to improve the information exchange between information generators and users. Over 50 participants from all the sectors as well as UN agencies participated in the workshop to finalize the implementation of the Maldives's national action plan.
