Workshop on Enhancing Resilient Livelihoods to Address the Climate Change-Disasters-Poverty Nexus in Asia

25-Jun-2018- 26-Jun-2018
Bangkok, Thailand

A Regional Synthesis Workshop on Enhancing Resilient Livelihoods to Address the Climate Change, Disasters and Poverty Nexus in Asia, was convened by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the AIT.

The aim of this event was to share and review the findings of three country-specific case studies developed by FAO with the aim to strengthen capacities of three countries - Bangladesh, Myanmar and Vietnam - to understand the climate change-disaster-poverty nexus, identify implementation models that address this nexus effectively, and make recommendations to incorporate these models into country policy and planning processes.

The participants at this workshop included government officials from relevant ministries (including Agriculture, Rural Development, Urban Development, Social Welfare, Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change/Environment) and study teams from the three target countries.
