The Third Global Waste Conference​

The Third Global Waste Management Conference was held on 29-30 March 2022 in a virtual format with the theme “Advancing Towards Zero-Waste Cities “. The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) and Confexhub Group of Malaysia organized the conference. Participants were from policymakers, international experts, and global industry practitioners to strategize, chart directions and craft-out new blueprints to achieve the actions, such as, cities in Asian to define Zero-Waste Cities principles and chart frameworks; sustainable product lifecycle policy in product design systemic process to avoid and eliminate waste and toxicity, conserve and recover all resources; local governments to establish incentives and campaigns for industry and community to source responsibly; cities to adopt green technologies in landfills and increase usage of incinerators; among others. Mr. Guilberto Borongan and Mr. Solomon Huno, of RRC.AP participated in the conference virtually.

Mr. Borongan presented one of the plenary addresses – ‘Investment Opportunities in Waste Management in ASEAN’ during the opening and plenary session. Similarly, Mr. Borongan was privileged to moderate session 6: Waste-To-Energy: Tackling the Waste Crisis & Meeting Climate Change Target. Mr. Solomon Huno moderated the open forum on ‘Industry Leaders Forum: The Essential of Advancing Towards Zero Waste Cities’.
