UN Conference Centre, Bangkok, Thailand

The Capacity-building Knowledge to Action Day was held during the Asia-Pacific Climate Week on 2-6 September 2019 and convened by the Paris Committee on Capacity Building. Discussions focused on resources, opportunities, and approaches to strengthen the engagement of universities and research institutions in capacity building for the preparation and implementation adaptation planning and Nationally Determined Contributions.

The event resulted in a draft list of recommendations to inform ongoing efforts by the Paris Committee on Capacity Building (PCCB) to leverage a platform to enhance coherence and coordination in capacity-building efforts under and outside the UNFCCC. The one-day closed-door event was organized by UN Environment and UNESCAP with support of the Stockholm Environment Institute, International Centre for Climate Change and Development, United Nations University, Least Developed Countries Universities Consortium on Climate Change, NDC Partnership, International Institute for Sustainable Development, the NAP Global Network, among others. Updates on these developments are expected during the upcoming Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP25). Mr. Jonathan Brenes and Mr. Lyan Villacorta from AIT RRC.AP participated the event.
