The workshop on awareness raising and capacity building for formulating National Waste Management Strategy objectives are to:

1. raise awareness of stakeholders on holistic waste management;
2. build capacity of technical officers and other participants on various aspects on the development of national waste management strategy for Mongolia focusing on data collection and analysis (data revolution), identification of gaps in legislative framework and implementation, financing mechanisms, technologies and roles of stakeholders;
3. review and agree the draft outline document national waste management strategy and action plan, and identification of some options for pilot demonstration; and iv) discuss the next steps on the development of waste management strategy.
