​RRC.AP was invited by the Geoinformatics Center (GIC) for a joint research collaboration meeting on 25 August 2015 at the GIC office in AIT. The meeting started off with a welcome address and introduction by Dr. Lal Samarakoon, Director of GIC. Mr. Osamu Mizuno, Director of RRC.AP also gave his introductory remarks. Hoping to promote potential collaboration between the two AIT centres in the future, the meeting was held to exchange information on the nature of research projects, resources and services each centre has provided. GIC presented their projects related to satellite-based monitoring system application, space technology observation system application, remote sensing and GIS application. RRC.AP also briefed on its science-policy interface on climate change & assessment, regional air pollution initiative network, the past remote sensing and GIS project initiative with GIC, and the RRC.AP's information system resources. Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, AIT Vice President for Resource Development also attended in the meeting.
